Â
Starcraft RV has reentered the fifth-wheel market with three new 2015 models, the upscale Solstice and the mid-priced Travel Star and Travel Star Galaxy.
Â
The Solstice is the flagship of the new line with an emphasis on residential features such as an optional 18-cubic-foot refrigerator, 30-inch microwave, Corian solid-surface countertops, cherry hardwood cabinet doors, Lauren Ashley furniture and name brand appliances. There is an oversized shower with two shower heads, one from the wall and another from the ceiling, and two skylights overhead. Â The master suite is prepped for a washer and separate dryer, and the bed has a Denver mattress with a memory foam pillow top.
Other features of the Solstice include a universal docking station that includes an outside shower with hot and cold water, simple water heater by-pass switch, simple winterization switch, black tank flush kit, city water connection, dump valves and soap dispenser.
An arctic package extends the camping season with an insulated, heated and enclosed underbelly and heated holding tanks.Â
Brent Froman, vice president of sales, said Starcraft builds its fifth-wheels with widebody construction—102 inches wide instead of the standard 96 inches. That extra six inches, Froman said, adds extra roominess to the bedroom and living areas.
With the addition of the new models, Starcraft now has a complete lineup of towables, everything from camping trailers to 40-foot fifth-wheels. Â The fifth-wheels are built in a new facility dedicated to their production.
The Starcraft Solstice has a suggested retail price starting at $65,000. For information, visit starcraftcamping.com.Â
