The new Garmin series is an easy-to-use portable navigation series that boast many new features designed to assist in increased driver awareness.
Consisting of four models, the Garmin Drive, Garmin DriveSmart, Garmin DriveAssist and Garmin DriveLuxe, some thoughtful features across the product lineup include warnings for upcoming sharp curves, railroad or animal crossings; alerts for users driving the wrong-way on a one-way street; red light and speed camera alerts; and time-saving traffic information with fast-approaching traffic jam notifications. For longer routes – that is specifically helpful for RVers – there is a fatigue warning alert that suggests potential break times and available rest areas or places to stop.
“The most exciting development of the new Garmin Drive line is that driver awareness features typically seen in luxury vehicles are now accessible as an aftermarket solution for all drivers,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales. “These new driver alerts can remove some of these burdens and help drivers stay aware on the road.”
Users will also appreciate extensive preloaded data including Foursquare POIs, adding millions of popular stores, restaurants, attractions and more. Various models offer options for lifetime maps and traffic updates and users will benefit from the available customizable smart notifications, which allow drivers to voice-activate calls, text messages and app notifications on the navigation screen.
