Located about 80 miles south of Calgary, Coyote Creek Golf & RV Resort features an 18-hole championship course that’s nestled at the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in Sundre, Alberta.
With 40 spacious RV sites, Coyote Creek is one of Alberta’s newest Stay and Play destinations. The rental park consists of 30 beautifully landscaped sites, as well as 10 spacious pull-thru sites. Situated along the No. 6 fairway of the Deer Nine, all of Coyote Creek’s RV sites are large enough to accommodate any size RV. Each site is supplied with15, 30, and 50 amp power, water and sewer hook ups, a fire pit, and picnic table.
In preparation for your golf outing, check out the pro shop and practice facility. The 350 yard driving range features a 53,000-square-foot grass hitting area with seven target greens, complete with bunkers. These target greens are situated from 100 to 265 yards. There’s also a chipping area that allows golfers to work on their chipping and pitching up to 100 yards. It also features a huge bunker for practicing your sand game. Also, a 7,200-square-foot putting green is located next to the clubhouse.
The first nine-hole track – the Deer Nine at Coyote Creek – opened in 2005 and measures 3,214 yards. In 2008, the second nine was introduced. The Coyote Nine measures 3,448 yards. Collectively, the par 71 course measures 6,662 yards, and features four sets of tees for different skill levels. A few sample holes include the following:
? The opening hole on the Coyote Nine is a 529-yard par 5 with a pond running parallel to the left side of the fairway the last two hundred yards. A few bunkers also surround the green.
? The Coyote Nine’s par 4, No. 3 hole measures a mere 342 yards. However, this is the ultimate risk reward golf hole. Not long in length, it features the Coyote Creek running diagonally across the fairway. Long hitters can carry the creek with a good tee shot, setting up a short approach shot into a large green. Laying up short of the creek will leave an approach shot of at least 150 yards.
? The only par 5 on the Deer Nine is the 526 yard, hole 4. Aim your tee shot down the right side of the fairway to avoid the bunkers on the left. An accurate second shot on the fairway, or green, is required to humble this hole.
