For the next couple of months, we will be showing our readers a start to finish remodeling project that we are doing for a customer from Gilbert Arizona. Each week until the projects completion we will take you through the entire remodeling process. Typically a job like this can be done in a couple weeks time, however this customer has left his coach with us untill after the beginning of 2009. The first step on this coach is the removal of furniture and flooring. The captains chairs, sofa, recliner and dinette set need to be unbolted and taken out the front door. The entire bed frame and mattress also must be removed. The toilet and bathroom door are also taken out. After the furniture is out, we tear out the carpet and pad. Because we will be installing tile on all the main floor areas, all staples must be pulled as well. Next is the tile removal. An industrial air chipper is used, and as you can see in this coach it comes up in a bunch of small one or two inch pieces. After the tile is up we use a commercial sander to take off the remaining mortar still stuck to the floor. Again this area needs to be perfectly smooth in preperation for the gold heat mats, and new tile. Once all the flooring is up, we will do a full clean up of the interior to remove all dust and debris. Thanks for visiting our blog, check back next week.
