Thor Industries, the world’s largest RV manufacturer, has moved Ron Fenech from president of Keystone RV to the new position of senior group president, with all Thor divisions reporting to him.
For the past eight years, Fenech had led Keystone, which is Thor’s largest and most profitable company. Fenech will report to Peter B. Orthwein, Thor chairman, CEO and president. Bob Martin, who had been executive vice president of Keystone, was appointed president of that company.
The new title of Thor senior group president also was bestowed on Richard (Dicky) Riegel, who was Thor’s chief operating officer. In his new role, Riegel will have responsibility for Thor’s bus group, investor relations and development of new business. Orthwein said, “One of Thor’s biggest opportunities is to utilize its strong cash flow to enter a new, related business segment and Dicky Riegel is the ideal person to head up that effort.”
After the appointment to his new position, Riegel resigned as co-chairman of the Go RVing Coalition, which promotes the RV industry. Bob Olson, CEO and president of Winnebago Industries, was named to replace Riegel and will serve as co-chairmen with Indiana RV dealer Tom Stinnett.
The management changes at Thor follow the death in November of Wade F. B. Thompson, who co-founded Thor with Orthwein and served as chairman, president and CEO.Research Campgrounds, Plan RV Safe Routes & Turn your phone into an RV GPS.
