Thor Industries, the world’s largest RV manufacturer, reported a 64 percent increase in sales for the quarter ended April 30, bolstered by both restocking of dealer inventories and improving retail sales.
The company, which makes buses and ambulances as well as RVs, said sales for the quarter reached $679 million. RV sales amounted to $558 million, compared with $312 million a year ago. RV backlog doubled from last year to $667 million. Meanwhile, the company also announced that it has sold its Canadian RV and park model subsidiary, doing business as General Coach Canada, to the company’s management.
