RV manufacturer Thor Industries reported $3.53 billion in sales for the fiscal year that ended July 31, a 9 percent increase from the previous year, with most of the growth attributed to motorhome sales.
Towable RVs accounted for $2.72 billion in sales, a 3 percent gain over last year, while motorhome sales were up 36 percent to $803.5 million. The company also reported a healthy backlog of orders, worth $538 million.Â
Thor acquired K-Z, a trailer manufacturer, in May and the sales results for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year reflect that impact. Towable sales were up only 3 percent for the year, but 11 percent in the fourth quarter. The company will announce its operating results for the fourth quarter on September 25 and those results will include the costs of the K-Z acquisition.
