Torklift International has created a new product, the Basement Camper Step, that can help RVers get in and out of certain truck campers more easily and with greater safety.
Jay Taylor, Torklift International general manager, said there is a 14-inch vertical step-down between the bumper and the entry door on basement model campers. “People struggle to step up and down with a gap that large,” Taylor said. “After hearing stories about people slipping or falling off their bumper because they lose their footing, we responded by creating this product.”
The Basement Camper Step is a single step that is 7.8 inches high and is designed to be bolted to the camper bumper. It folds out of the way for basement door access. The step is made in the U.S. of aluminum and stainless steel, and can glow in the dark for up to 10 hours after just a few minutes of light. It can be coupled with the Torklift International GlowStep to provide steps from the bumper to the ground.
Suggested retail price of the Basement Camper Step is $170.11. For information, visit torklift.com or call (800) 246-8132.
