Classic cars from Ford, Chevrolet and Chrysler will travel from America’s Car Museum (ACM) in Tacoma, Washington, to Detroit on a transcontinental journey this winter billed as “The Drive Home.” A 1957 Chevrolet Nomad, 1961 Chrysler 300F two-door hardtop and a 1966 Ford Mustang will leave Tacoma December 27 and arrive in Detroit January 7 in time for the opening of the North American International Auto Show.
“Cars are meant to be driven, not sit idle in a museum,” said David Madeira, ACM CEO. “Driving these vehicles from the Big Three American auto manufacturers will be a celebration of Detroit’s automotive heritage.” It will also celebrate the resurgence of Detroit and the American auto industry, he added.
