Well we are back to work on the Watson's Monaco coach. This week we installed the MCD roller shades and the custom built cherry window valances. All of the side windows had MCD American Duo manually operated shades installed, and the front windshield recieved the American Duo Power shade. Installation of the shades requires several steps. First the shades have to have the tension set. This adjusts the speed at which the shade will raise up. Next we set the stopping point. This is the level the shade will stop at in the up position. This usually is dictated by the height of the window treatment. Once the tension and stop points are set, we install the brackets into the coach. The width of the shade determines how many brackets per shade. The manual shades are then snapped into position. The front power shade needs to be wired to the 12 volt system. On this coach we removed the factory installed power visors, and utilized the existing wiring and switches. After the shades were snapped into position, we installed one inch L brackets to support the cherry window box's. These were custom built and stained to match the rest of the hardwood in the coach. The window boxes were then installed, giving the coach a more modern appearance. The photos below show the installation process. Next week we will cover the heated floor and tile installation.
