Website Shows Pet-Friendly Places

Amy and Rod Burkert, co-founders of the GoPetFriendly.com website, have joined with Winnebago Industries in a new effort to spread the word about the ease and fun of traveling with pets.

The Burkerts, based in Philadelphia, will travel with their dogs, Ty and Buster, in a 2010 Winnebago View. The Burkerts launched their website last year as a source for pet policies at more than 4,000 pet-friendly RV parks and campgrounds and 20,000 hotels and inns. “We were convinced that the website would not be successful if we just sat in our office and told people how easy it is to travel with their pets,” said Amy Burkert. “We need to travel, and the new Winnebago, with its pet-friendly features, will make our trips much more enjoyable.”

Chad Reece, Winnebago Industries director of marketing, praised the website for providing access to pet travel information and sharing the best practices for traveling with pets. In addition to its lodging information, the website allows users to find pet-friendly beaches, shopping centers and off-leash dog parks.
