Claude Donati, co-founder and president of Nexus RV, has been named chief executive officer of the RV Warrior Company, which has been formed to revive the Weekend Warrior brand of toy haulers.
RV Warrior has leased office and production space from Nexus RV in Elkhart, Indiana, for production of toy hauler travel trailers ranging from 20 to 28 feet in length. It plans to begin building fifth-wheel toy haulers early next year. The company is headed by Brandon Ambris as president. His partners include the founders of Nexus RV and California RV dealer Frank Barouti.
Weekend Warrior pioneered the toy hauler segment of the RV business before it went bankrupt in 2008 and closed its production facilities in Perris, California. The new company has hired an industry veteran, Casey Torres, as its western region sales manager.
